SEND Accessibility
Staunton and Corse provide a fully accessible environment for those children with physical needs. Our site is on one level with no stairs, and where there are small steps, we are able to use our small ramps, making it very wheelchair friendly. We have one disabled toilet near the hall, easily accessible from all classrooms. All of the classrooms are organised to suit the needs of the class. The rooms are well lit, ventilated, and engaging for the children.
The playground features a number of large, tarmacked areas, a ramped gazebo, and a spirituality garden for those who wish to spend their break times more quietly. We offer a Calm Club for infants and juniors for those children whose playtimes are sometimes just too much for them to cope with. The playground also features a trim trail and a climbing area, which is ideal for helping to develop gross motor skills. Our large outdoor area with a large sandpit with OPAL play is thoroughly enjoyed by all our children, but particularly children with ADHD and similar difficulties, providing them with an area to burn energy, in a safe environment.
